HEARTIEST CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL WINNERS OF THE WORLD’S 50 BEST BARS 2021!

The 13th list of The World’s 50 Best Bars, sponsored by Perrier was announced at a live awards ceremony earlier this week in London, UK, and we would like to take this opportunity to congratulate London’s Connaught Bar for clinching the No.1 spot again this year, and to the other 49 bars for making it to the highly coveted list.

Hong Kong’s COA has climbed to No.7 and is The Best Bar in Asia, sponsored by Torres Brandy. Singapore, on the other hand, has the most Asian representatives and more than any city in the world, with six bars on the list. Jigger & Pony is at No.9, Manhattan at No.15 and Atlas at No.16. There are two Singaporean new entries with No Sleep Club at No.26 and MO Bar at No.36, and Tippling Club, Singapore is a re-entry at No.43.

As the appointed Asia region PR agency for The World’s 50 Best Bars 2021, we were glad to have facilitated a virtual press conference for international media who were not able to join the live awards ceremony in London. Some of the winners we spoke to included Hanky Panky from Mexico – Disaronno Highest New Entry (No.12), Thunderbolt from Los Angeles – Campari One To Watch (No.66), Maybe Sammy from Sydney – The Best Bar in Australasia (No.22), COA from Hong Kong – The Best Bar in Asia (No.7), and Connaught Bar from London – The World’s Best Bar and winner of The Best Bar in Europe.

William Drew, Director of Content, The World’s 50 Best Bars, and Mark Sansom, Content Manager, The World’s Best Bars, were also present at the press conference to share their thoughts about this year’s list, and about the exciting new award for 2021: the Siete Misterios Best Cocktail Menu, designed to reward innovation, design, drinks, craft and idea communication.

#TASTEOFTRADITION BY TRUE AUSSIE BEEF & LAMB

Need some inspiration on what to serve to impress your meat-loving friends? Steal some tips from Roland Lim of Spice N’ Pans as he shows us how to prepare a hearty Asian Style Braised Beef and a scrumptious Asian Spiced Roasted Lamb Rack – both recipes are chock-full of wonderful flavours. For the former, he chose to use Australian chuck tender – which is perfect for braising as the longer you cook it, the meat gets more tender, and for the latter, he picked an Australian lamb rack, which offers both great quality and value.

Alternatively, surprise your guests with an impressive centrepiece for your Christmas dinner this year – Jonathan Tan of The Meatmen shares how to prepare an Aussie Tomahawk Ribeye with Asian Chimichurri and Duck Fat Potatoes here.

A SWEDISH SMORGASBORD

That trip to Sweden may be a long way away, but you can create your own Swedish Smorgasbord at home this festive season. And you don’t always have to whip up a massive roast turkey or beef Wellington each time. For casual gatherings, you just need crackers, cheeses, ready to serve desserts, alcohol and more from Try Swedish. The fun is in getting your friends involved in the food preparation.  Best of all, you can find all the items under one roof on @redmartbylazada here.
