5 Big FoodNews moments you may have missed in 2023

It’s been a year that we can truly look upon and say, “We made every second count!”
From our home offices across the little red dot, we served up the most ambitious projects and ate, drank and hustled from Ho Chi Minh City to Hong Kong. How we did it, we aren’t exactly sure.
But we suspect working with an ace team has a lot (if not everything) to do with it.

Read on to find out where we have been, and what’s next for 2024!

1. We turned 15

Yes, it’s been a decade and a half! In the flurry of activities following the post-pandemic resurgence, we missed a big milestone in our journey. The last 15 years were filled with many ups and downs (both in business and our waistlines). But what we cherish most are the fond memories of FoodNewsers who have contributed to our growth and success. Many have excelled in taking on leading roles across different industries, and we are grateful to have been a part of their growth. Here’s a look back at some of our best times together!

2. We launched SOCraft Awards and our first E-Digest

After one year of intense planning and preparation (and three logo iterations later), SOCraft Awards finally went live in November 2023. The first Asia-based Awards in the world of craft spirits, we aim to provide global craft spirit makers with a gateway to Asia’s thriving bar scene.

What makes SOCraft Awards special? It’s founded by FoodNews.
We are the first (yes, we love first-mover status) F&B marketing agency in Asia to immerse ourselves in the world of drinks. FoodNews co-founded Singapore Cocktail Festival in 2015 and in 2018 became the lead agency for Asia’s 50 Best Bars. So you can trust our marketing prowess and network, as we push towards creating greater appreciation and awareness for your craft spirit!

Psst. We also launched our first E-Digest in conjunction with the Awards. Produced cover-to-cover by our multi-talented Content Team.

3. We won Lead Agency role for Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants

We may look like we are mostly thirsty for cocktails, but in truth, it all began with our fierce appetite for gastronomy. After six years of leading on Asia’s 50 Best Bars, we were appointed Lead Agency for Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants last year thanks to the good people at 50 Best. The win was made more fulfilling, with the awards being hosted in Singapore. Nothing beats a good home ground celebration with media friends from across continents!

This year, we continue our work with Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants, and will be off to Seoul in March for the live awards countdown. Hope to see you there.

4. We expanded our client portfolio across 5 countries

Post-pandemic travel exploded across the globe and at FoodNews! Last year, we picked up new clients from across Asia – AKUNA in Vietnam, Aragu in Maldives, Bar Sathorn and IGNIV in Bangkok, Bulgari Bar and Gold Bar in Japan, and The Bombay Canteen in Mumbai. We are stoked to be working with these great brands for their reputation-building campaigns, leading with our expertise across Communications, Content and Trade Engagement.

P.S. We are also launching a new brand for the folks at The Bombay Canteen soon.
Stay tuned for more.

5. We transitioned into a 4.5 day work week

Despite all that has happened at FoodNews, we were able to successfully transition into a 4.5-day work week. It’s amazing what you can achieve together when everyone shares the same passion and pace! If you resonate with our core purpose of “Bringing creativity into the world of F&B marketing” and have at least two years of experience in communications, we are hiring!
